How we build eHive: from parts to a finished device

Building eHive is not just about assembling parts. It is a sequence of steps where mechanical precision, electronics quality, sensor stability and final calibration all matter. We buy the base components, but the decisive manufacturing and verification steps are done in-house.

Mechanics and construction

Frames are CNC machined and plastic parts are produced with 3D printing. That allows us to improve construction quickly, make servicing easier and maintain compatibility even for older hardware generations.

Electronics and bring-up

The PCB is assembled using a solder paste stencil and reflow oven. After assembly, each board goes through visual inspection, firmware upload and functional verification before final device assembly.

Thermal stability of sensors

Each load cell is tested in a thermal chamber. That is where we identify pieces that would show unwanted drift with temperature change. Combined with software compensation, this gives much more usable stability in real field conditions.

Calibration and final verification

After assembly, every unit goes through calibration, communication checks and a load test. The goal is simple: graph changes should reflect what is happening in the hive, not production errors or thermal drift in the device.
